Town of Carrboro FY26 Priorities

Update

The Carrboro Connects 2022–2042 Comprehensive Plan identified four areas for further land use study. Following the adoption of the Downtown Area Plan, the Town is scheduled to begin a small area plan for the NC 54 Corridor. Funding for consultant services has been allocated in the FY 2025–2026 budget.

This project, next in the series of corridor studies identified in the Comprehensive Plan, is anticipated to begin in Q3.  A slight delay due to additional work needed to complete the Downtown Area Plan.

  • Fall 2025: Adopt the Downtown Area Plan
  • Winter 2025/2026: Prepare an RFP for NC-54 Small Area Plan consulting services
  • Spring 2026: Begin the NC-54 Small Area Plan; consider budgetary allocations for other small area planning efforts in FY 26-27
