Update

Homes - Based on the successful Electrify Asheville-Buncombe County community electrification program, Central Pines Regional Council will launch an Electrify the Triangle campaign that will offer free Home Energy Navigator services to guide homeowners through the complexities of various clean energy technologies, such as solar and heat pumps, help them take advantage of incentives and financing options, and connect them to vetted local contractors to bring these energy-saving projects to life. This regional program is expected to launch in December 2025.

Businesses - Orange County adopted a C-PACE program in October 2025 that offers attractive rates on long-term private financing for commercial property upgrades that save energy and water or build resilience.

The Economic Development and Climate Action teams are working with Orange County and Carrboro businesses to spread the word about this new tool.
