Town of Carrboro FY26 Priorities

Update

The flooding caused by Tropical Storm Chantal resulted in the loss of multiple landscaping and related equipment assets. The Town’s remaining inventory includes 33 units, with 24 powered by gasoline and 8 operating on battery.

Next Steps

The flooding event presents a timely opportunity for the Town to upgrade its landscaping equipment by transitioning from gasoline-powered units to battery-operated alternatives. As part of the next steps, the Town will evaluate its current inventory and operational needs to identify required equipment, and will research appropriate models and suppliers that align with budgetary constraints.
