Town of Carrboro FY26 Priorities

Update

In 2020, the Town conducted a Net Zero Energy Study on three of its largest facilities: Town Hall, Century Center, and the Public Works Complex. This plan helped us better understand how energy and water are used in each building and offered insight into how our buildings perform compared to similar buildings in the Southeast. Energy Audits take this one step further by recommending specific technologies and upgrades to save energy. They also provide a ball-park estimate of the cost to implement those measures.

Next Steps

The Town contracted a qualified energy auditor that is currently conducting an audit of energy use in Town Hall, Century Center, Fire Station 1, and Fire Station 2. The audit will be completed in early 2026.
