Progress Updates

  • Per the Human Services Strategic Plan, staff are providing technical support and guidance for agencies to successfully contract with the City of Bellevue.
  • Homelessness Outreach staff are continuing to work with faith organizations, safe parking program operator 4 Tomorrow, and local neighborhood groups on potential safe parking program locations, with DS on permitting at potential sites, and with FAM regarding ongoing accommodations at the Lincoln Center until program relocation.
  • Homeless Outreach staff implemented a shared data tracking system with Cities of Redmond and Kirkland Homelessness Outreach staff, and have requested IT assistance with establishing automated updates from data system to data dashboard.

Look Ahead

  • Human Services staff will schedule annual monitoring visits with agencies at the program site to directly observe the provision of services, build relationships with providers, get updated information on program successes and challenges, and ensure contact compliance.
  • Office of Housing staff will provide an update to council regarding the Eastgate housing campus in July.
  • Homelessness Outreach staff will continue to work with 4 Tomorrow and potential host faith communities on determining a new location for the Safe Parking Program.
  • Homelessness Outreach staff are preparing for severe weather response, and will collaborate with King County Regional Homelessness Authority to coordinate their response when appropriate. KCRHA has activated severe heat response twice in June. The National Weather Service anticipates warmer-than-average and drier-than-average conditions.
