Description

This key result focuses on increasing proactive engagement with the public through joint safety walks with Bylaw and RCMP, foot and bike patrols and other policing initiatives to provide the community with opportunities for positive interactions with public safety officials. This will increase over time public confidence and trust and demonstrate that the City is acting proactively to police the community.

This key result is now operational, with dedicated bike and foot patrols taking place in the downtown core. These patrols increase police visibility, support proactive engagement with the community, and provide opportunities to address property crime and public safety concerns.

Collaboration between Maple Ridge RCMP and Bylaws continues through information sharing and coordinated responses to community concerns. Ongoing reporting and evaluation are being used to track activity, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities to further the initiative.
