Staff are collaborating with BC Hydro to explore the various Solar configuration options, review Hydro incentives for these options, and then conduct a feasibility study to enable the City to be eligible to receive Hydro incentives. This work will also ensure the best location for the solar panels. The project will take several months to complete when initial analysis is done, and will involve decisions by Council to make strategic investments in solar power for selected facilities. |

The project was made possible through funding from the Zero Emissions Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) administered by Natural Resources Canada. |

Public open houses will be announced as part of the roll out of the engagement process when these are confirmed.

Staff applied for and recieved a second round of the Planting for Tomorrow grant through the Trans Canada Trail for 5 additional park sites and received $30,000 to plant 880 new trees.
Applied for and received funding for a project to plant 1,000 new street trees. Further details to be announced at a later date. |
