Project Objectives |
Replace 38-year old fire station located at NW 3rd Avenue south of Copans Road with a new fire station to reduce response time and enhance fire and emergency services to the area which will include a new 2-story, multi-bay building.
Progress Update | |
- Apparatus bay crew continued tying steel, forming up the drain system, and connected to the main system
- Window sill both upper and lower have been prepped and some of the window sill has been poured
- Crew continued formwork and steel reinforcement for the floor of the apparatus bay, installing roof trusses and beams on the lower roof at the main entrance to the building.
- Removing the formwork from the elevator shaft, prepped and poured the east staircase
- Work continued on the 1st and 2nd floor, laying out, wall framing, installing electrical pipes and outlets, drains pipes, water lines, framing out shower stalls.
- Crew framed out the ceilings in the storage areas and entrance to the apparatus bay
- Safety handrail has been installed in the west staircase and maintained daily
- Crew continued working on the pad grading, forming up the pad, and installing electrical conduits
- Installed soffit and fascia panels on the west and north sides of the building
- Cleaned debris, trash and waste material onsite
- Backfilled, rough grading and compacting around the building and entrances
- Contractor received deliveries of roofing materials
- Roofing contractor ABC on site, preparing to start the roofing work
