Project Objectives |
Construct a new fire station to be located at the corner of SW 36th Avenue and McNab Road to reduce response time and enhance fire and emergency services to the area which will include land acquisition and a new 2-story, multi-bay building.

Roofing contractor and crews continued working on the main roof installing roof trusses framework, plywood on the flat roof of the building and apparatus bay
Contractor poured and finished both east and west staircases with high strength concrete
The interior framing contractor continued working on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building, laying out the framework and installing metal studs, framing out the doors and windows
Electrical contractor completed installation of conduits and junction boxes on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building and started pulling the wiring
The roof sealing contractor completed the installation of the (TPO) Thermoplastic Polyolefin single ply roofing membrane the flat roof, sealing around the roof drains, ac curb adapter and vents
The masonry subcontractor continued working on the fire tower addition
Roofing contractor poured the light weight concrete and installed the insulation on the roof top, and poured the final 2 inches of light weight concrete
Plumbing contractor started working on the 1st floor, installing water lines, drains for the bathrooms and showers
Crew continued sanding and prepping the concrete walls along the east and west staircases on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building, anticipating starting stucco work next week
Welding and fabrication contractor completed the steel framework for both the east and west staircases, handrails and support brackets, and continued working on the main roof of the building and apparatus bay
Plumbing contractor completed the installation of the roof drains on the 2nd floor of the building and the apparatus bay, installing the 4inch and 6inch PVC pipe and fittings to the drain inlets on the sub roof and homerun to the 1st floor discharges
A/C curb adapters have been installed on the flat roof and bolted down to the flat roof
Gas subcontractor Equix has completed installing a 1.5-inch gas line, connecting from the main line on the east side of SW 36th avenue to fire station 114 on the west
Crew completed prep and poured the east ramp, porch / patio floors, dumpster tie beams and fill block cells
Masonry crew continued working on the dumpster and generator pad, installing steel reinforcement rebars formwork and the conduits for the generator electrical hookup
Plumbing subcontractor has completed the roof drain pipe connection to the catch basin on the west side of the building
Electrical crew completed trenching and installing conduits for the main power hookup from the building to the FPL pole
