Project Objectives |
Replace outdated, energy inefficient sodium halide light fixtures with new LED units. Staff identified two models and styles that can be utilized for these City-wide upgrades: Memphis (decorative) and ATB2 (conventional). The decorative model will be used as much as possible, but existing concrete poles that cannot be retrofitted will require the use of ATB2. This model uses a flat LED fixture. The goal is to replace as many as 6,500 to 7,000 units throughout the City with over 400 units anticipated in Collier City, approximately 200 units in Liberty Park, and 1,000 units in Old Pompano, Cresthaven, and the Highlands. The City plans to turn over the City-owned fixtures to FPL.
Progress Update | |
These projects will continue to utilize mostly short term, moving MOTs to minimize impacts on traffic flow. These MOTs are planned and set by FPL. In Collier City four phases have now been successfully completed, along with several other cities listed in the Project Schedule section. Plans were submitted for Leisureville and Kendall Green. Lights in Cresthaven that were incorrectly installed are replaced with Holophane Memphis fixtures for optimal aesthetics and functionality for the Community. 33rd St and Liberty installations are complete. Upcoming work is planned for Old Pompano.
