Create an environment that is inclusive and engaging for students, faculty, staff, & the community.

MW Dean of Student Development and Enrollment (2022-2023)

The annual MCC Institutional Effectiveness Plan (IEP) Cycle runs from June through May. In June, Planning Unit Managers (PUMs) identify unique operational goals they plan to impact over the course of the IEP Cycle. For each operational goal, PUMs identify at least one operational tactic, and each operational tactic has a corresponding performance measure and target. PUMs also identify how each operational goal supports its corresponding shared service/campus plan, the College's overarching strategic plan, and the Higher Learning Commission's (HLC) criteria for accreditation.

In May, PUMs close the IEP Cycle by recording every operational goal's performance measure result, completion status, and plans for continual improvement. Additionally, PUMs are able to request fiscal resources related to their IEP for the immediately upcoming fiscal year starting in July.

To open the annual IEP cycle, PUMs fill out the blue boxes in June.

Operational Goal

Create an environment that is inclusive and engaging for students, faculty, staff, & the community.

Operational Tactic

Focus on programming that will highlight and benefit specialized student populations.

Performance Measure

1. We will continue the efforts and programming for our Men of Courage, Character, and Culture (MOC3) and Sister Circle groups.

2. Through our Disability Support Services (DSS) Office and MW Inclusion & Engagement Council, we will implement programming to highlight the importance of learning and advocation for this specific student population. Additionally, we will look to provide sessions and learning opportunities for faculty and staff, through our Teaching & Learning Center.

3. Through the Office of Student Services, our MW Inclusion & Engagement Council, and MOC3 we will explore hosting a program for minority male high school students in the MCC-Maple Woods service area.

Target

1. We will have sessions each month for each group. We will also be developing criteria for students to meet in order to receive a certificate and scholarship opportunities. Lastly, we will bring both groups together for a social outing.

2. We aim to hold at least one event this academic year and one session through the Teaching & Learning Center, each semester.

 3. We aim to host an event and partner with our area school districts to bring 25-50 minority male students to our campus for a program.
