This measure provides updates on major milestones and anticipated next steps associated with efforts related to the development and implementation of the Cuyahoga County Internal Communication Plan. Metrics reported on this page include:
- The average In the Know newsletter open rate (% of employees that open the newsletter),
- The average In the Know newsletter click throughs (% of employees that open the newsletter and click on a hyperlink that takes them to the Intranet),
- The number of total page views for the Intranet blog,
- The number of total page views for the Intranet,
- The number of unique page views for the Intranet blog, and
- The number of unique page views for the Intranet.
Updates are provided by the Cuyahoga County Department of Communications on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important? |
The Cuyahoga County Internal Communications Plan provides a roadmap for the Department of Communications to improve internal communications channels, create a positive, open, and supportive culture that values staff and ensures proactive, regular two-way communication among County staff. Strategies detailed in the plan include:
- Creating an Internal Communications Departmental Committee,
- Planning standing face-to-face meetings with members of the Executive Leadership Team,
- Revamping the intranet so that it is robust, utilitarian, and informative,
- Administering the annual Cuyahoga County Internal Communications Survey,
- Devising standardized internal communication policies and procedures, and
- Developing a resource document for mass communications that includes a road map to follow with input from the Department of Communications.
How are we making an impact? | |
In the fourth quarter of 2020, the Communications staff continued executing the Cuyahoga County Internal Communications Plan. Communications assisted with developing the following internal communications campaigns:
- Developed a communications plan for the 2020 Benefits Open Enrollment period.
- Developed the first Department of Public Safety and Justice Services department newsletter.
- The Department of Communications collaborated with the Corrections Department to produce its second quarterly department newsletter and the Wellness Coordinator to produce its monthly wellness newsletter for all Cuyahoga County employees.
- Began developing a campaign to recruit County employees to become Mentors in the College Now Mentor Program.
- Developed a campaign for virtual Cuyahoga County Innovation Academy courses
- Developed a communication plan with the Department of Information Technology to communicate the transition from WebEx to Microsoft Teams and the launch of a new employee self-service password reset feature.
- Continued support of the Internal Equity Commission as internal communications specialists.
Production and distribution of the “In the Know” newsletter continued weekly during the fourth quarter. The “In the Know” now features an employee spotlight that showcases employee milestones, achievements, and department highlights.
