As part of the Total Rewards Strategy, Cuyahoga County strives to be an employer of choice with respect to the benefit options provided to employees and effectively managing resources spent on benefits spend the employee’s perspective and the County’s perspective.
How are we making an impact? | |
Amidst the changing landscape of healthcare practice and delivery, Cuyahoga County continued to provide an attractive, comprehensive, and competitive employee benefits package, to over 5,600 employees and more than 6,000 dependents.
Affordable, accessible healthcare is an important component of the County’s strategy to become an Employer of Choice and to provide employees with a Total Rewards package that reaches beyond just the “paycheck”. Cuyahoga Count is able to attract, develop, motivate and retain talented individuals, seeking to work in an environment where an employee can reach their full potential all while having access to excellent health care.
To address the shifting landscape of healthcare, physicians and health care providers moved to the virtual platform utilizing venues such as Teledoc and Telemedicine, so that employees and their families were able to receive timely and excellent healthcare.
Providers of Mental Health services communicated the availability of important services much more frequently. The Employee Wellness program offered a myriad of programs and services to step up employee engagement.
Employees in the Benefits department, while working Hybrid work schedules, continued to provide uninterrupted excellent customer service as it related to employee benefits for current employees and COBRA benefits for individuals who discontinued working for the County.
The County, in its commitment to providing high quality, and affordable benefits annually completes a review of market best practices as it relates benefits plans, plan design, healthcare cost trends, etc. The County also reviews closely how employee and employer cost are impacted year over year, and the action steps needed to take to ensure the sustainability of each plan.
The County is confident that it is on the right path toward becoming an Employer of Choice and consistently providing an excellent service.
