Why is this important?

As part of the Total Rewards Strategy, Cuyahoga County strives to be an employer of choice with respect to the benefit options provided to employees and effectively managing resources spent on benefits spend the employee’s perspective and the County’s perspective.
How are we making an impact?

Cuyahoga County provides competitive benefits at affordable prices and provide employees with options to best meet their individual and family needs. In 2018, the Department of Human Resources revamped the County's life insurance program and implemented a new benefits enrollment platform to streamline the enrollment process for employees and Human Resources staff. The Department makes benefits information readily accessible through a comprehensive benefits website that employees and their families can access. The Department continues to participate in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement Plan and offer a robust wellness program through SimplyWell.

The Department of Human Resources believes in the importance of commitment to community by partnering with local employers, including, but not limited to, Medical Mutual of Ohio, the MetroHealth System, and Moore Counseling and Meditation Services. 

The Department plans to continue to provide competitive, affordable benefit options to County employees and to maximize the efficiencies of the new ERP System. Human Resources staff will continue to review benefit offerings to ensure alignment with the Total Rewards Strategy.
