About this measure

This measure provides updates on major milestones and anticipated next steps associated with efforts to develop and implement the Cuyahoga County Employee Performance Plan. Updates are provided by the Cuyahoga County Department of Human Resources.

Why is this important?

An effective performance management process enables managers to evaluate and measure individual performance to optimize productivity and to create a plan for employee development and succession planning. Successful use of a performance management program will enable the County to improve service delivery, increase employee engagement and productivity, and make employees better stewards of the taxpayers’ money.

How are we making an impact?

The Department of Human Resources is focused on creating an organizational culture in which Cuyahoga County employees are not penalized for making mistakes and feel comfortable and empowered to collaborate with their supervisors on setting and attaining goals for personal and professional growth.

Milestone Measure

Face-to-face communication between supervisors and employees has increased. Required documentation submitted on a quarterly basis to the Department of Human Resources shows employees and supervisors are having frequent, open, two-way discussions not only about employee performance, but about the employee’s personal and professional development plan for career advancement.
