About this measure |
This measure tracks the value of improvements to County programs, services, and processes as a result of continuous improvement efforts.
Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Office of Innovation and Performance (I&P) on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important? |
Cuyahoga County has a duty to continue to improve processes to ensure the maximum investment is made with public dollars received. I&P works with departments to identify process improvements and builds staff capacity to complete process improvement projects through the Cuyahoga County Innovation Academy (CCIA).
The value of improvements can be calculated in four different categories:
How are we making an impact? | |
In Q3-21, Cuyahoga County Innovation Academy (CCIA) continued in-person training efforts.
In addition to training, Office of Innovation and Performance staff provide ongoing support to all CCIA Green Belt cohorts as they complete the required improvement project to receive certification. As of Q3-21, there were 24 active CCIA Green Belt projects.
As progress related to these projects continues Office of Innovation and Performance staff will identify and report the value of cost savings, productivity gains, and community benefits. $8,522.80 in new value of improvements were identified during Q3-21. The Division of Job and Family Services' Negotiable Items Unit faced an extreme backlog of in cash-out and medical cards, which was exacerbated by the pandemic. This process improvement project resulted in clearing the backlog and established a new process that will ensure more efficient service for customers going forward, and easier process implementation.
