About this measure

This measure demonstrates the Office of Innovation and Performance’s (I&P) efforts to foster a culture of innovation by showing the number of employees who have participated in innovation programs and activities.

Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Office of Innovation and Performance on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important?

Engaging employees through training, process improvement projects, performance management, and strategic plan implementation creates an environment where ideas, innovation, and creativity can flourish.
How are we making an impact?

Fostering a culture of innovation requires engaging employees in innovation efforts. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic limited the Office of Innovation Performance's (I&P) ability to bring employees together.  I&P's annual Innovation Conversation Series was cancelled and Cuyahoga County Innovation Academy (CCIA) training sessions were placed on hold.  Despite these challenges, I&P continued to engage employees through a number of I&P led programs and projects.  

To support process improvement recommendations for the County's public records request process, Office of Innovation and Performance staff engaged department public records managers in a record accessibility audit in Q4-20.  This audit helped the project team identify standard request categories, areas where records accessibility could improve, and links to frequently requested public records available on the County's website.  Office of Innovation and Performance staff also continued to engage employees in process improvement projects supporting the Cuyahoga County Sheriff in Q4-20.  

In addition to projects and programs above, I&P continues to engage employees through Cuyahoga Performance and CCIA trainings are expected to resume in 2021.
