This measure provides the County’s most recent credit rating as assigned by Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s. A credit rating is an assessment of the ability of an organization to fulfill their financial commitments.
Data are provided by the Cuyahoga County Office of Budget and Management on an annual basis.
Why is this important? |
The County’s credit rating is an independent assessment of the County’s financial health and management. A high credit rating enables the County to issue debt at lower rates, which decreases the cost of borrowing.

The County received excellent credit ratings from both Standard & Poor’s and Moody's. To maintain a high credit rating, the County will continue to adhere to the County’s financial policies and best practices.
