Updates are provided by the Cuyahoga County Department of Regional Collaboration on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important? |
Advocating for the Cuyahoga County community at the state and federal levels is integral to ensuring community interests and needs are heard. By aligning the County's legislative agenda with its strategic plan, the County can advocate for additional dollars to support regional growth, economic opportunity, and individual well-Being in Cuyahoga County.

How are we making an impact? | |
The Department of Regional Collaboration has collaborated with the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership to begin a process of collaboration to recommend funding for a set of community projects. This collaboration marks the first time that this group has formally advocated for state capital funding together. This includes 10 recommended projects rooted in economic development and economic opportunity. The department is currently advocating with partners at the statehouse to gain funding in the ongoing capital budget discussions.
The Department of Regional Collaboration has collaborated with other departments of the County to advocate and apply for 17 appropriations requests for the County including funding requests for Lakefront Access, Microgrids, Economic Development projects, bridge replacement, HHS operations support, and workforce development funding. These federal earmark requests are for all Congressional members that touch the County and, if successful, will bring millions of funding to the region.
