About this measure |
This measure shows the number of board and commission appointments made annually. Data reported are provided by the Cuyahoga County Department of Regional Collaboration.
Why is this important? |
More than 75 boards and commissions across the county support residents through oversight of such topics as economic development, transportation, city planning, health, and safety. The County Executive is responsible for appointments to these boards and commissions, which are made up of our residents, businesses, and partners.
How are we making an impact? | |
The Department of Regional Collaboration is meeting with all board and commission executive directors to learn more about the goals of their work, the current roster of board members, and the amount of vacancies or upcoming term limits. In collaboration with Cuyahoga County Council’s Human Resources, Appointments and Equity Committee and Clerk of Council, staff are working to develop a timeline for all boards that will create systems of vacancies, application procedures, and continued communication from the Department of Regional Collaboration past the point of appointment. Bi-weekly meetings are also being held with the Cuyahoga County Executive and his leadership team to network and interview new, diverse members of the County to build a network of dedicated, innovative individuals who can be appointed to a variety boards and commissions.
