About this measure

Measures reported on this page show the total number of registered voters in Cuyahoga County, the percent of the eligible population registered to vote, and total voter registrations from customers of Cuyahoga County agencies.

Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE) on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important?

The Charter of Cuyahoga County gives County government the charge to protect the right to vote and undertake measures to promote voter registration. In addition to providing comprehensive voter services and transparent elections, Cuyahoga County is committed to making voter registration easy and accessible to everyone. Every voice matters and through regular tracking of voter registration data it can be seen how efforts to help residents learn more about the importance of voting and make the process more accessible are impacting voter registration numbers.

How are we making an impact?

Registration Readiness Notices

On March 8, 2022, a total of 13,994 Registration Readiness Notices were mailed to voters  that had initially received confirmation notices pursuant to the 2018 NCOA Process and the 2018 Supplemental Process. Voters that receive a Registration Readiness Notice can update their address or confirm their address.

Close of Registration

The Close of Registration for the May 3, 2022 Primary Election was on Monday, April 4, 2022. The Election Support Division will be heading out to National Voter Registration Act locations (i.e., public high schools, public libraries, BMVs, and designated agencies that provide public assistance or disability programs) to collect voter registration forms during the week of April 4. Received registrations will be entered in the voter registration database as "on time" for the May 3, 2022 Primary Election.

Community Outreach

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections' Community Outreach Department has participated or hosted 20 voter registration events throughout the Cuyahoga County community in 2022. Events include hosting a Voter Registration Table at Naturalization Ceremonies and at the Community Health Clinic. Our Community Outreach Department is currently scheduled to host a Voter Registration Table at the Expungement Clinic and Expo and at the Homeless Stand Down in April.
