About this measure

This measure shows the number of clients served through the Options for Independent Living, Home Support Services, and Information Services. These are programs provided by the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services that allow seniors to remain independent and in their own homes. Data is reported by the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services. Quarterly and YTD data is unduplicated by program.

Why is this important?

The Division of Senior and Adult Services empowers seniors and adults with disabilities to age successfully by providing resources and support that preserve their independence. These services help seniors remain in their own homes, preventing them from entering nursing homes or assisted living facilities.

How are we making an impact?

Over the last five years the Division of Senior and Adult Services has supported approximately 30,000 seniors in Cuyahoga County. Through the Options for Independent Living and Home Support Services programs, seniors are provided with home-based personal care (such as assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming), homemaking (such as light housekeeping and laundry), medical transportation, home delivered meals, case management, and other critical services that enable them to remain in their own homes. Seniors participating in the County’s Information Services program receive assistance with navigating and enrolling in the complex network of social services benefits available to them, helping seniors and adults with disabilities continue to live independently.

As the Cuyahoga County population continues to age, the Division of Senior and Adult Services is focused on deploying innovative solutions to meet the increased demand for quality services to help seniors maintain their independence.
