During Q1-22, TANF Work Activity providers resumed in-person activities. The providers utilize various models that focuses on client participation for a specific number of days on-site. The goal is to have clients on-site for job search, technical support/assistance, and case management services that off-site staff cannot provide. Some TANF customers continue to express their hesitation to obtain employment due to COVID-19, lack of childcare, or opting to enroll in training/school instead of working. The providers continue to encourage customers to obtain employment by hosting virtual hiring events and incentivizing customers who obtain and retain employment. Customers are also reminded and encouraged to take advantage of Work Experience or Subsidized Employment options.

Compared to Q1-21, TANF enrollment has decreased by 1,467, or 13.5%. The decline of enrollment is due to various factors, such as lack of childcare and COVID fears.
