About this measure

This measure provides an overview of the number of Cuyahoga County residents enrolled in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. In Cuyahoga County, this federal program is called Ohio Works First.

Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Division of Job and Family Services on a quarterly basis.
Why is this important?

The goal of the TANF program is to promote responsibility, work, and self-sufficiency. TANF offers temporary financial assistance to help pay for food, childcare, rent, and other living essentials.

How are we making an impact?

The Cuyahoga County Division of Job and Family Services has researched approaches designed to provide timely service and to connect residents with employment and training opportunities. The Propel Enterprise Workforce Services model will be used, providing a holistic approach to serving TANF recipients. The Propel model will allow for the connection to training, work activities, and job placement while providing a support system for the individual.
