About this measure

This measure outlines the percentage of high school students that earn a diploma in four years. The data included in this measure are from public school districts within each county.

Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Office of Innovation and Performance on an annual basis.
Why is this important?

Completing high school is an important first step toward long-term financial stability. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, workers without high school diplomas earned, on average, $24,000 annually; workers with high school diplomas earned $30,500; workers who completed some college earned $31,900; workers with a bachelor’s degree earned $49,900; and workers with a master’s degree or higher earned $59,200.

How are we making an impact?

Cuyahoga County continues to look for ways to improve the graduation rate by engaging County employees in the True2U mentoring program, serving as a partner to bring Say Yes to Education to Cleveland, and supporting the well-being of children through the Cuyahoga County Family and Children First Council.
