About this measure |
The Cuyahoga County Capital Improvement Plan identifies, schedules, and funds future capital spending for Cuyahoga County's road, bridge, sanitary, and facility design and construction projects.
Measures on this page are specific to road and bridge projects only and include:
- The value of County funds spent annually on road and bridge projects, and
- The value of non-County funds leveraged to complete road and bridge projects. Non-County funds typically include a mixture of dollars from the federal government, state government, and other local governments.
Updates are provided by the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works on an annual basis.

Capital projects are major investments using County, federal, state, local, and/or grant dollars to complete the work. Capital projects allow the County to improve the pavement of County roads and rehabilitate and replace County bridges.
How are we making an impact? | |
In 2021, Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works used County, federal, state, and local funding sources to award contracts for:
- Five road projects located in six municipalities (Bedford, Cleveland, East Cleveland, North Royalton, Parma, and Parma Heights).
- Five bridge projects located in six municipalities (Cleveland, Independence, North Olmsted, Olmsted Township, South Euclid, and Valley View.
- Repairs and improvements in six County-owned facilities.
- Professional services, including construction management, design, and engineering.
