About this measure |
This measure tracks the number of executed agreements for Cuyahoga County’s Solar Co-Op Program.
Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Department of Sustainability on an annual basis.
Why is this important? |
The Cuyahoga County Solar Co-Op helps educate residents on solar power and provides benefits to those who want to go through with the installation process. The Cuyahoga County Department of Sustainability is committed to helping more residents across the County understand solar power and how they can go solar on their own homes.
How are we making an impact? | |
In 2016, the Department of Sustainability launched the first round of the Solar Co-Op, a program co-run with Solar United Neighbors. The program educates residents on solar power through informational meetings and creates a group buying co-op of households that want to go solar. The group buying aspect helps each household save about 20% on the cost of the solar installation. In addition, each household can talk to others around the County who have gone solar to ask questions and gain insight. Four rounds of the co-op have been completed and plans exist to continue the program in 2021.
