About this measure

This measure indicates the number of days in the year when the Air Quality Index (AQI) for Cuyahoga County was between 0 and 50, also known as good air quality days.

Data are reported by the Cuyahoga County Department of Sustainability on an annual basis.
Why is this important?

Local air quality affects how we live and breathe. AQI is an overall indicator of air quality for Cuyahoga County. As AQI rises above 50, the health of children, older adults, and other sensitive groups can be impacted by increased ozone and particle pollution. When AQI rises above 200, the general public may experience serious health effects, such as reduced lung function, shortness of breath, aggravated asthma, and even permanent lung damage.
