Currently each code staff carries about 65 inspections and that is about twice the national or state average.  This lends to burnout and errors, although we are very low on errors, we simply do not have the staff needed to perform the job as it should be done.  We work mostly on a reactive basis.  Each officer also carries about 5-7 demolitions at a time as well and those cases take about 90 days each to complete.
