The building code enforcement team has been reorganized to handle more code cases. As such, two additional code enforcement officers have been trained to address bandit signs and assigned major corridors to proactively monitor. Field staff in several departments were deputized to dispose of signage while conducting other activities. The code enforcement officers are personally visiting and following up with letters to inform businesses of the types and amount of signs allowed by code. This effort has decreased the number of temporary smaller signs and flag-like banners used along the road for advertising.
The implementation of this strategy is complete and the efforts will continue to actively enforce bandit signs.
