This will be a very challenging project to complete. First, a consultant that deals with obtaining Army Corps of Engineers permits and with extensive knowledge of the dredging process would need to be secured. Second, a suitable disposal site that is big enough to hold the large amount of dredged material would need to be located or the dredged material would need to be trucked out to a different location. Third, the needed depth of the dredge would have to be determined based on the proposed use of the water, i.e. sail boats will require deeper water than jet skies or paddle boards. Once the needed depth is determined, the amount of cubic yards to reach that depth would need to be moved.
Considering all of these factors, it is likely that this project would cost several million dollars and take upwards of 2 to 3 years to complete.
