Staff has begun internal discussions regarding code enforcement and code amendments to encourage redevelopment in the Downtown Arts District.  The Community Development team is working with Public Affairs to advertise the benefits of  the Revitalization Incentive Zone (RIZ) whereby property owners can obtain free permits and tax refunds for improving their buildings.   They are also looking to expand the boundaries of the RIZ to further incentive others to improve property' s within this area.   Additionally, staff may request to broaden the guidelines for the Downtown Façade Program to provide a greater benefit for property owners.
