In April 2018, the City Council considered and approved a change to the Future Land Use Plan along Bayway Drive. The amendment changed a portion of Bayway near the 5900-6000 block and its intersection with Cabaniss Avenue from Waterfront and Commercial Corridor to a Commercial Node. In the upcoming budget year, funds will be used to initiate a corridor study. A major goal of the study would be to identify opportunities and mechanisms to encourage redevelopment of Bayway Drive.
