| Seeing that citizen satisfaction continues to lag behind the average for Texas, the City has added an increased focus on improving street lighting throughout the City. Scores have increased since the base year and should continue to climb as Centerpoint continues their LED street lighting program and the City continues to add new street lighting in areas that are currently deficient. | |

| The City has made a concerted effort over the past few years to increase the enforcement of city codes and ordinances. Neighborhood Protection Officers now drive the City and proactively write citations for code violations. Citizen survey scores are showing continued improvement and Baytown is now even with the Texas average. | |

| The City's Community Development Division works to provide homeowners in older parts of town with the resources to rehabilitate their homes. 88 homeowners have been assisted during the past 12 months and the City will continue looking for ways to provide additional homeowners with assistance in the future. | |
