A full-time Community Engagement Coordinator has been in position for six months.  Promoting Volunteerism is one of the responsibilities of this position.  The City of Baytown has partnered with the United Way to promote volunteer opportunities through a the online portal, Volunteer Connect.  The City organizes monthly volunteer opportunities including painting park pavilions, coastal clean-ups and Butterfly Garden plantings.  The Community Engagement Coordinator works with individuals, corporate and church teams, and high school clubs to promote volunteer engagement.
