Description
This measure highlights the number of intersections in Baytown that utilize adaptive or "smart" programming. A normal intersection runs on the same timing, whether there is 1 vehicle or 100 vehicles at the intersection, leading to inefficiencies. An intersection with adaptive programming collects data 24/7 and modifies signal timings based on the time of day or if the signal detects more or less traffic than normal.
Analysis

The City continues to add adaptive programming to key intersections throughout the City.  Over the two years, fourteen intersections have been converted to adaptive programming.
