In July of 2020, the City received notice that the H-GAC Transportation Policy Council had awarded additional funds for the Garth Road Reconstruction & Widening Project, bringing the total commitment of outside funds for the project to over $30 million.  Additionally, Harris County awarded a partnership grant to revitalize Market Street and complete rails to trails.  This grant will award over $4 million for the project.  The City is also beginning preliminary design of Cedar Bayou Crossing, John Martin Widening from I-10 to Wallisville, and intersection improvements along the I-10 corridor.  All of this work will setup the City well to compete for future Federal transportation funding.
