Hutchinson and Associates have been contracted to develop engineered plans for the trail connection from Baker Road to Santavy. The project will include needed surveys, topo studies, needed CenterPoint permits and several pipeline permits. Parks & Recreation staff will request funds in the FY 2021 budget to complete Phase 7 of the Goose Creek Trail plan which will construct the trail from Baker Road to Cedar Bayou Lynchburg Road, including sidewalk connections and a connecting trail to Eddie Huron Park.
Goose Creek Trail Phase VII is funded by the MDD for the FY2021. Project is planned to start in early 2021.
Hutchinson and Associates will complete the design in November 2020. Construction for Phase VII to connect Baker Road north toward Cedar Bayou Lynchburg and connecting to the Eddie Huron Park Trail and access to the Country Club Cove subdivision with access to the Bush Road to San Jacinto sidewalk, is expected to be under construction in early 2021.
April 9, 2021 update - The plans for Goose Creek Trail Phase VII are complete. Staff is working to obtain the needed easement with the Country Club Cove HOA for the needed connection to Eddie Huron Park from the GC 7 project. The majority of the funding was reprogrammed by Council during the February 25, 2021 City Council meeting. Staff is considering using the remaining funding to extend the trail to Manor Drive and completing the sidewalk connections on Manor Drive.
