Parks & Recreation and Public Works staff are currently working with Harris County and the Be Well Baytown project to provide safe routes to five elementary schools and safe route to five parks.

Safe Routes to Schools and Parks Virtual Workshop - 8/6/2020.

We are continuing to work with Harris County Health on the safe route to schools and parks.  

In June 2021 Harris County released their Safe Routes to School Action Plan for Baytown, TX. The partners for this project included Harris County Public Health, City of Baytown, Be Well Baytown and Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District. The action plan is available on the City's website for the public to review and on Baytown Engage.
