City Staff is currently evaluating the Bayway corridor to determine if the Future Land Use Plan and/or the zoning designations should be amended.  This would include surveying existing uses and the opportunities for redevelopment.

An amendment to the Future Land Use Plan will be presented to City Council on April 12, 2018.  The amendment proposes to change a portion of Bayway near the 5900-6000 block and its intersection with Cabaniss Avenue from Waterfront and Commercial Corridor to a Commercial Node.  This will allow an existing business to expand and be rezoned from a single-family designation to General Commercial.
