City staff is currently working to develop a redevelopment/improvement plan for the Market Street District to include a strong citizen participation element, a capital improvement plan, and an implementation guide. 

Staff completed and released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to develop a Market Street Corridor Plan.  The RFP was sent directly to 8 Houston area firms, advertised in the Baytown Sun, posted on the American Planning Association websites, and staff prepared a press release to the area media outlets.  The RFP is due on April 27th and a committee will review and interview at least 3 submissions.  The committee will recommend a firm to City Council for approval in May 2018.  The final product is scheduled to be presented to City Council in September 2018.  Please see the attached map showing the Market Street Corridor.
