Internal discussions are on-going as to the most efficient use of personnel and equipment necessary to achieve specific goals.  These discussions will carry over to the budget process for either simple transfer of assets or proposed increases to directed programs to expand capabilities. While the state interactive portion (Keep Baytown Beautiful) has not been internalized by the City, City personnel have been engaged in the clean-up of more than 1,000 streets, the collection of 8,100 bags of litter, the management/administration of more than 23,000 volunteer hours, and a number of clean-up and recycling events in 2017. Similar staff-driven endeavors are on-going in 2018.

The City was notified that we are the recipient of the 2018 Governor's Award from Keep Texas Beautiful, recognizing our litter abatement, education, and beautification efforts.  The award comes with $270,000 for a community beautification project.
