Protect and Harden Critical Infrastructure

Progress Update

Mar-23

    • Nevada County Public Works submitted RAISE grant application to fund 1.4 million of the construction costs for the Rough and Ready/Ridge Rd/Adam Ave Intersection Improvement project infrastructure projects to improve safety, environmental sustainability through reduced pollutants/emissions, and quality of life.
    • Solid Waste staff created the SB1383 Procurement Workgroup to: a) advance development of the County’s SB1383 procurement program; b) provide education and coordination between internal County departments/divisions as procurement targets are established for the entire County; and c) serve as a catalyst for developing possible strategies for meeting SB1383 procurement goals, including but not limited to identifying funding sources, identifying short- and long-term procurement opportunities, evaluate future project alternatives, and identifying partners and stakeholders.

Next Steps

    • Assess next Community Choice Aggregation models for Nevada County, and track progress of Pioneer Energy CCA implementation in Nevada City and Grass Valley.
    • Develop charter for pilot program to enhance access to low-or no-cost energy efficiency resources for income eligible Nevada County residents through partnership with Project GO, Social Services, and EAP working group.
