Plans for Q2 (April-June 2023) include:
- Contract with consultants to complete the Nevada County Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update, the Evacuation Study, and the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. *This process was delayed in Q1 2023 due to a delay in closure of the RFP as a result of the 2023 Winter Storm.
Release a Request for Qualifications (contracting requirement) for a consultant to satisfy environmental compliance for the Ponderosa West Grass Valley Extension Project (this was delayed due to FEMA funds being awarded for this project, allowing for the scope to double in acreage).
- Identify an appropriate project to submit to the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program NOI that has been issued due to a Disaster Relief number (DR#) being assigned to the Winter Storm of 2023.
- Write a grant to the United States Forest Services to allow the funds awarded for the FY23 Congressionally Directed Spending Request for the Ponderosa West Grass Valley Defense Zone Phase 1 Maintenance Project to be administered.
