Annual Water Loss |
Analysis |
Eden Prairie has taken steps to minimize the amount of "unaccounted-for" water through a strong water metering management program, reduction of unmetered uses and system leak detection. The percentage annual water loss has remained fairly consistent.
Why is this Important? |
Each year we track metered water against water pumped from our aquifers to identify opportunities for improving metering accuracy, or to find areas where water is being lost through system leaks or treatment processes. Industry averages for unaccounted water are in the range of 20 percent, with recommended goals of 10 percent or less.
