CIty's Bond Rating |
Analysis |
Moody’s Investors Service has assigned the City of Eden Prairie its highest rating, Aaa, for every debt issue since 2003. In 2013, City leaders determined that pursuing an additional bond rating from another agency could be financially beneficial, and in 2014 Eden Prairie also secured the highest rating, AAA, from Standard and Poor's.
Why is this Important? |
High bond ratings ensure the City receives the most competitive interest rates on debt, reducing its debt service payments. The City’s high bond ratings reflect Eden Prairie’s extensive and diversified tax base, low amount of rapidly amortized debt and capably managed operations.
