The Property Value Saved Index evaluates the total property value saved against the total property value of buildings that experienced structural fires.

The property value saved index has improved significantly since 2014. Increases in the number of properties with sprinkler systems and quicker response times to structure fires have reduced the potential for damage prior to the arrival of the Fire Department.

Evaluating the property value saved from a fire can help determine the effectiveness of fire alarm and suppression systems, fire education efforts, and fire department response.
