Description

The Charlottesville Police Department's "soft" goal is to have at least half of all sworn police officers trained through the now renown Crisis Intervention Team to aid in deescalation of crisis situations and to better render aid to mental health consumers. 
Analysis

Due to fluctuations in staffing and availability of CIT-training, a quarter-to-quarter comparison of CIT-trained sworn officers is not available or feasible. Instead, presented here is the most up-to-date data on the police department’s CIT-trained officers; over half, approximately 54.8%, of all sworn officers are currently CIT-trained.
