Description
Gross receipts by categories. The receipts are from the calendar year preceding the FY being reported. Wholesale businesses do not report gross receipts, they report gross purchases.
For context, the # of businesses reporting in each category may also be of interest. That can be found in the intermediate measures or on the Commissioner of the Revenue's scorecard.

Analysis
The determination of whether Charlottesville has an appropriate mix in types of businesses is a subjective one and difficult to measure. Generally, we don't want to be too heavily reliant on one type of business. It appears, in the short time this data is available, Charlottesville has a good mix.
The overall trend has been one of general growth in most sectors. Particular attention has been paid in 2016 & 2017 to licensing residential hotel (aka homestay) businesses.
