Description

A household is considered to be cost-burdened if the occupants pay more than 30% of their income on housing.
Analysis

There has been a slight decrease in the number of owner-occupied households that are cost-burdened. The percent of renter-occupied household that are cost-burdened has decreased slightly. The renter-occupied rate is likely exaggerated by the number of University of Virginia students who live in the City. These students often have very low or no income.
